RESIDENCE MANAGER BRITISH HIGH COMMISSION
A vacancy has arisen at the British High Commission for a residence manager to run the high commissioner residence in Dar es Salaam.  The position is graded at A2 (L) for which the current salary start at TSH 1,186,122 per months before deduction of tax, based on a 24 hour week
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·         Will need to be strong leader of a small but important team that supports the running of the residence of the British High Commissioner. 
·         S’HE will responsible for  ensuring the residence delivers reputations for excellent services & quality whilst creating welcoming and friendly atmosphere
·         S/HE would take responsibility for a wide range of events/activities at the residence running what is working building as well as familiar home
·         S’HE will also need to have a flexible approach to working hours as the role is a 24 hours week delivered flexibility over the months.  this will include occasional evening and weekend working
MAIN DUTIES
·         Liaising with the commissioner office and BHC staff to deliver a schedule of receptions, dinner lunches event and visitors staying at the residence
·         Working with the  BHC team to deliver high profile events  at the residence such as the annual UK National day Celebration
·         Selections of the menus with the chef
·         Coordinating the steward & catering team often with staff from outside
·         Budget forecasting and management
STAFF MANAGEMENT
·         Direct line management of the steward and chef and countersign officer for the staff
·         Resolving HR issue and development needs through a formal appraisal process
HOUSE SUPERVISION
·         Tasking and briefing of team on general housekeeping
·         Regular monitoring of performance
REQUIRED SKILLS
·         The ideal candidates will have a good understanding of British society and the expertise community and be confident in dealing with senior visitors and VIP
·         Experience in the hotel/hospitality industry would be an added advantage
·         String verbal and written communication skills are essential including good English and Kiswahill would be advantage
·         Good working knowledge of ms Word initiative and great attentions to detail is required

NOTE
