Glaser Pediatric AIDS Healthcare Initiative (AGPAHI), an affiliate of
Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Organization (EGPAF) is Tanzanian led
and managed national organization focusing largely on HIV and AIDS and
other related health programs. AGPAHI implements all its programs in
collaboration with Tanzania Government Entities through the Ministry of
Health, Community Development; Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC)
and President's Office - Regional Administration and Local Government
(PO RALG) and other stakeholders. AGPAHI supports the provision of
high-quality HIV and other health services and ensures that efforts are
well-integrated into existing regional and district health systems.

implementing various projects that are highly demanding and thus the
organization is looking for a motivated, result driven, qualified and
competent staff to feel various management positions as per the AGPAHI
organogram

POSITION TITLE: Program Officer, TBIHIV
REPORT TO: Regional Program Coordinator
DUTY STATION: Tanga, Shinyanga, Mwanza, Geita, Mara, Simiyu
Primary Responsibilities
The Program Officer TB/HIV will work under the direction of the Regional Program Coordinator. This person works in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health District Tuberculosis and Leprosy Coordinators, District HIV/AIDS Control Coordinators, and Council Health Management Team. The Program Officer TB/HIV will provide technical assistance to health care workers in supported facilities for the implementation of TBHIV collaborative activities in Shinyanga, Simiyu and Geita
Principal Functions:
• Support and monitor implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities Acts as the main contact person for sub-grantees to coordinate the communication between sub-grantee, Regional office and other program staff on collaborative TBHIV activities. .
Ensure existence of effective referral system of tuberculosis and HIV patients to appropriate services for HIV counseling, screening, care, and treatment within the district or region
Identifying site staff training needs, and Organize and coordinate TB HIV related trainings for health care providers in supported regions.
• Participate in review and verification of TBHIV data before submission to relevance authorities.
• Prepare TBHIV data and present and or submit to relevant authorities.
Conduct supervisory visits to tuberculosis and HIV diagnostic and care facilities.
Systematically provide guidance for improvement and follow up whether or not issues have been solved, or advice has been followed.
• Participate in the orientation of newly recruited POs and visitors
• Advocate for inclusion of TB/HIV activities in the CCHP
• Participate in development of proposals and work plans for TBIHIV Programs.
Interventions
• Support facilities using QI principles in addressing TBHIV challenges
• In collaboration with M&E team to ensure availability of TBHIV M&E tools, proper documentation and timely submission of TBHIV reports.
• Participate in TBHIV data collection, verification and upload data in Glaser. Compile all data collected and share with M&E team.
• Provide feed- back to sub-grantee and other relevant stakeholders based on ISS findings, facilityl District data LAB Services
• Follow up implementation of TBHIV diagnostic services in collaboration with Program officer lab and facility staff
Supply Chain
• In collaboration with Program Coordinator supply chain ensure availability of TB drugs
• Conduct any other duties assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and ability
• Advance diploma or degree in Medical related field Preference will be given to the following:
• Experience in providing HIV care and treatment services.
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience required with 2 years working experience in HIV/AIDS care and treatment
• Experience TB related programs
• Proven experience providing mentorship, particularly in improving TBI HIV services
• Supervise and coordinate direct service delivery support (clinical support) on TB/HIV at selected sites.
• Excellent knowledge of national (MOHCDGEC) and World Health Organization guidelines on HIV care and treatment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and good team spirit
• Computer literacy is necessary and the applicant should be comfortable working with the basic Microsoft packages (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
