Job Title: Value Chain Lead Facilitator (6)
Reports to: Value Chain Coordinator
Location: Districts in Lindi & Mtwara regions, Tanzania
Reporting
to the Value Chain Coordinator, the Lead facilitator is responsible for
mobilisation, training, routine monitoring and supervisory support to
small holder farmers, Producer businesses and MSMEs to enable them meet
the standards and quantities of rice, horticulture, pulses and poultry
products demanded by caterers of oil, gas and mining industries in
Mtwara and Lindi Regions as well as other markets within and beyond the
two regions. S/he will work closely with the Market Development and VC
Coordinators to design, develop and roll out training packages, develop
linkages with identified market actors to connect production to the
market. S/he is responsible for progress on targets and quality of the
project interventions in the field
Key Responsibilities
Mobilise, train, follow up and organise all field activities including PBs and MSMEs in the respective district.
Responsible for direct supervision of PB Managers
Lead in technical agronomic advisory services in the value chains
Seek and share information on crop trends, disease, treatments, new varieties, breeds with farmers/MSMEs
Ensures compliance and quality assurance in the selected value chains
Ensures smooth information flow between PBs and project office
Responsible for routine data collection and monthly reporting
II. Core Competencies
At least Diploma in Agriculture from reputable training institute
Training and/or experience on market led producer group engagement
Possesses social organization skills and experience in any of the supported value chains
At least 3 years of successful work with producer groups in agriculture
in relevant value chains, private sector experience will be an
advantage
Willingness to work and live in Lindi and Mtwara regions
