Description
General Responsibilities
• Lead sewing, printing and embroidering class to ensure training program is conducted according to curriculum.
• Prepare course material and provide handouts to students.
• Carry out assessment and evaluation to students as per Competence Based Assessment (CBA)
• Responsible to ensure safety of class properties that are under his/her authority
• Managing student attendance records, grades and other records
• Ensure student’s discipline as per the center regulations
• Required to follow all regulations and procedures set by Good Neighbors Tanzania.
Specific responsibility:
1) Tailoring:
• Teach sewing along with other arts & crafts activities.
• Provide instruction and demonstration of basic stitching, use of basic patterns, cushion covers and clothing items, means for mending damaged clothing and other alterations, basic machine use, and basic machine maintenance.
2) Printing and embroidering:
• Teach design and printing course theoretically and practically.
• Teach embroidering course theoretically and practically.
Qualification and experience
• Diploma in textile and designing or related discipline
• Experience in using sewing machine, printing machine and tools, embroidering machine and tools.
• Two years experience of teaching.
• Fluent in speaking and writing Swahili and English.

Location: Kibondo (Mtendeli camp)
Reports to: Principal
Contract Duration: Nine months, April – December, 2017 (Contract could be extended subject to funding)
General Responsibilities
• Teach designing, sewing, clothing technology along with other arts and crafts activities at Vocational Training Centre.
• Plan lessons in line with VETA curriculum documents.
• Carry out assessment and evaluation to students as per Competence Based Assessment (CBA)
• Responsible to ensure safety of class properties that are under his/her authority
• Managing student attendance records, grades and other records
• Ensure student’s discipline as per the center regulations
• Required to follow all regulations and procedures set by Good Neighbors Tanzania.
Qualification and experience
• Diploma in textile and fashion design with teaching certificate.
• Experience in using sewing machine, designing and clothing technology machine and tools.
• Three years of teaching experience.
• Fluent in speaking and writing Swahili and English.
